Individual / Couples Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Manchester
PG Dip. CBP, Dip. Couns. Cert. Couples & Relationship Counselling. MBACP.
I am an experienced BACP registered Individual and Couples Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist located in Manchester. I am passionate about helping people and have worked with a wide range of clients for the past six years. I work with individuals and couples from all backgrounds and I welcome and respect diversity.
I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Distinction), a BACP Accredited Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Level Five) and a Certificate in Couples and Relationship Counselling. I have also engaged in trauma focused CBT workshops, enhancing my professional practice when working with PTSD.
My therapy career extends across several sectors, giving me a wealth of experience. I have worked as both a Counsellor and CBT therapist for non-profit mental health organisations; and have also undertaken high intensity clinical work for a number of NHS trusts within both primary and secondary care settings.
Because each and every one of us is unique, I don't believe that one therapy model fits all. I therefore value the flexibility of using an integrative approach, where I can draw from my person-centred counselling skills and those of my additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy.
When I work with you, I will help you gain the most from every session by encouraging you to use the awareness you gain in therapy to emotionally heal. This approach is restorative, empowering and plays a fundamental role in self-efficacy and recovery.
" Both my personal and professional philosophies come from a place of compassion. Everyone deserves their story to be heard without judgement".
